GENERAL PROFESSIONAL STUDIES



These sessions provide an induction into the major dimensions of the education debate.   It fosters a whole-school/whole curriculum perspective on the role of the teacher.

       It enables participants to:

  • Describe and rationally justify their professional practice
  • Locate their work as subject teachers within the context of both National Curriculum as a whole and their contractual obligations as members of the broader staff team
  • Achieve understanding of the principles underlying curriculum development
  • Become effective members of the pastoral teams
  • Prepare for and reflect upon specific practical experiences
