Chiltern Training Group PGCE course trains individuals to teach the 11-16 age group for all subjects except Business Studies which is 14-19.
It is formally registered with the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) as ab 11-16 QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) course.
Our School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) offers a different style of learning to a traditional University based course but covers the same ground, takes the same amount of time and leads to the same qualification.
We believe that the best place to train teachers effectively in the highly complex art of teaching is in schools. Lectures and training sessions are delivered by serving teachers and you will be based at one of our schools throughout your training year.
The course is run in collaboration with Partnership and Associate schools who all provide trainee placements. We also work with a number of Primary and Middle schools and FE Institutions to enable trainees’ experience in consecutive key stages. |
