These sessions are aimed at Mentors of CTG trainees who have not been previously trained or who would like to refresh their mentoring skills. This may include Mentors who take trainees for shorter placements as well as extended placements depending on subject area.

This Mentor training consists of three levels and will be accredited through the Teacher Learning Academy.

William Merrick (Course Manager, Training) is the verifier for Level 1.

Teacher Learning Academy recognition will be available at three stages.  Each stage must address six core dimensions and therefore there must be evidence that there has been :

• Engagement with an appropriate knowledge base
• Access to peer support, coaching and/or mentoring
• Planning of a professional teacher learning project
• Implementation of the plan
• Evaluation of the impact of the teacher learning project
• Dissemination of what has been learnt
